Exploring Missoula

Historic Downtown
Missoula’s historic downtown begins along the banks of the Clark Fork River. There is always something to do including festivals in Caras Park, watching Brennan’s wave, riding the hand carved carousel, or taking in one of the many art galleries and museums.

Walking/Hiking
Great options abound from fairly easy to difficult trails. Being Missoula natives we can help select the perfect trail for you. We have maps and guide books as well.

University of Montana Campus
Located close to the Downtown area, the campus is home to the Montana Grizzlies. Tour the Native American Cultural Center or stock up on U of M “Griz” wear.

Fort Missoula Museum
Exhibits tell the story of the 1877 fort and local history, plus restored buildings on-site.

National Bison Range
We are just short drive to the entrance of The National Bison Range, a National Wildlife Refuge.  Located in western Montana, it was established in 1908 to provide a sanctuary for the American bison. The NBR is one of the oldest National Wildlife Refuges in the United States.

Dining in Missoula

Missoula is known for its culinary farm to table restaurants. Here are some of our top picks, but we certainly can assist with recommendations upon your arrival.

The Keep
The Keep is located up the hill from our property. Not only does it have a beautiful view of the Missoula valley but also a wonderful selection of seafood and steaks.

Plonk
Located in the historic downtown just minutes from the inn, this restaurant has a fabulous roof top patio. Locally sourced meat and produce create a culinary delight.

Thomas Meagher
Missoula has several great pubs with local brews on tap. This is one of our favorite burger choices.

Ciao Mambo
Located in the “Hip Strip” of Higgins Ave, this is our pick for Italian, with large portions.

Lolo Steak House
Located about 10 miles from us in the small town of Lolo, this is the ideal place to get a Montana steak dinner.
